photographic installation in a natural landscape

Video documentation of <500>_METERS_ONLINE, a large-scale photographic installation in a natural landscape,
Lyuda Kalinichenko, 2017–2019.
500 Meters Online is a photographic installation that connects digital activity, bodily routine and physical waste. For more than a year, I documented the waste produced around my online life: food packaging, disposable objects and everyday remains connected to the time I spent on the Internet.
Through photography, this waste first loses its materiality and becomes digital. By printing these images and placing them back into a natural landscape, I return them to physical space. The work creates a corridor between the real and the virtual, where online time becomes visible as a material trace.
The 500-metre image sequence represents one year of time spent online. In the landscape, the installation shows the virtual world entering the physical environment through the needs and habits of the body.
